surfing in Mauritius
Well-known for the wave of "Tamarin", Mauritius is another indian ocean surf paradise. The main surf spots in Mauritius are concentrated on the south and south west side of the island.

The swell size on Mauritius is generally about 1 m smaller than that on Reunion, this being attributed to the less steep coral reef drop-offs, and the fact that Reunion blocks off the swells moving in a north easterly direction from the Southern Oceans. The best months for surfing are between April and September.

hey there
i am moving to mauritius in 3 months for a couple of years and have been a bodyboarder for ages and always will be. i just wanna find out about the localism regarding bodyboarders. i come from cape town in south africa and surf a world class break pretty much everyday, kalkbay reef. i get respect at my local break so obviously will show respect at other locals' breaks. but how are bodyboarders treated and is there a bodyboarding community there?
