Climate: Tropical, but moderate
Terrain: Includes five archipelagoes (4 volcanic, 1 coral); Makatea in French Polynesia is one of the three great phosphate rock islands in the Pacific Ocean - the others are Banaba (Ocean Island) in Kiribati and Nauru.
Elevation: Highest point: Mont Orohena 2,241 m.
Natural hazards: Occasional cyclonic storms in January
Currency: Comptoirs Francais du Pacifique franc (XPF)
Population: 266,339 (July 2004 est.)

- How did you all get to bring your boards down to tahiti-moorea. Im goingthere for my honeymoon next nov 08 and on air tahiti i see tha they dint allow you to bring your board. Are there places down there to rent???? I dont think there is personally but what do i know

Im a Australian/Tahitian whos gonna be in Tahiti/Moorea/Huahine and the Tuamotus surfing in December and February 2007/2008.

- how do i get boards there????? read post below
