cuba is safe... - yes it is safe to surf / travel in cuba. i used to live in the neighborhood baracoa which is in the province of habana and it actually used to be home to a naval academy that closed maybe some 10 years ago. i love all of latin america but let me tell you cuba is one of the safest places you can travel on the planet and i'm saying that as a woman. look up the homicide rates for puerto rico, venezeuala, etc and they are through the roof. people should try traveling to places before they post scary things on the internet. anyway, back to surfing, the surf in cuba is hard to find so this directory is really nice. it's a great place to be with or without a board.
