It pretty much works all year long, so if you just want to go and surf hardcore, for your whole vacation this is the spot. Picks up all swell.
During the summer is the prime season for this spot, and expect prime crowds. There will be longboarders in florescent speedos going over the falls while you are setting up for the tube. Had two boards mangled because of the idiots who go there. Be careful, and bring ding repair.

the smallest day i had it, was when it was 4-6´I was getting barreled. And the locals did not even bother to go out, it was the smallest day of the year they said.
It is a great wave if you get it uncrowded, they don't call it Santa Crowdalina for no reason

The Polica - The Policia in Panama does not play. Random road blocks, and they stop and talk to everyone. Me and my buddy had to pay a cop off because my friend was driving with no shirt and he said it was illegal in Panama. Besides that a BEAUTIFUL country with AWESOME PEOPLE : ) MANOLO !!

santa catalina crwd factor - my first time in SC was in 1996. my las time was 2010 and i saw the same crowd. Sc grow with fishermen and dive the surf people (tourist and local) is the same... The real diference is when the locals go to surf. but they dont go all days. they dont surf before 7:30 am and after 1 pm. and they are not agressive, just owner the peak.
