i'm tess, i'm headed down after i move to ireland in september. haven't been 2 bb for years and never surfed there. i'm stoked 2 c old friends and just c the strand again....this time from the outside.

Local assholes!
Came down from Limerick last weekend and had my nose broken by some idiot local who couldn't keep his temper after I accidentally paddled in front of him whilst he was going for a wave.

I wouldn't mind but I said sorry and he still insisted on punching me.I reported this to the Gardai and took the reg of his car so I'm sure he will think twice before doing this again.

The ocean is for everyone and beginners should receive some respect as we all had to learn sometime.

ballybunion localism
Ballybunion one of few breaks in country that boasts a point break ,a beach break and a reef break all within a half mile stretch. unfortunately they all don't work at once or rarely do.As regards localism every one is pretty cool except when the point is kranking , thats when the resident five or six locals protect their birthright. now i know nobody owns the ocean or the wave for that matter but theese guys grew up surfing that wave all their lives and have undeniably got the rights to ride it . Its with regret that everybody cant get a piece of the pie but thats life and you have to live with it.it happens in every country all over the globe and things have to run full cicle.those guys will evntually be replaced by new guys but not for a very long long time.

i own all rights to the best waves in ballybunion u must pay a fee to surf i have not seen ur name on any incoming money we recieved u had better e-mail us to find out the total amount u owe.

if i catch them groms postin shit on this website about bally b ill bust their heads ,i am one of the original old school in bally b and the last thing we need is people puttin pics of bally b on the net. its the same old shit , ive surfed it for the past twenty years and unfortunately during the summer its crowded but in the winter when it cranks there is nobody there.

Respect the Locals and you will be welcomed!
Great break off cliff,but you really have to get in with locals to have a chance of being allowed on a wave.Met two guys-Richie and Marko-who pretty much seemed to call the shots amongst the local crew and they gave me the blessing to ride the gnarliest wave I experienced whilst travelling around Europe.Easily double overhead with no room for mistakesGreat nite life too!!
