Local beaches include Cross Strand and Carrownisky, both famous for their surf, Killadoon beach is within walking distance (approx 1mile) whilst the spectacular Silver Strand is a short drive away.
watch out for those damn weaverfish!
Have surfed here a couple of times. Nice chilled out spot but beware of the weaverfish! Don't forget your booties.

been too long
carranisky, is now crowded every weekend except middle of winter, lots of beginners and locals are not so friendly anymore when its good well be irish standards anyway, not that powerful either, long board all the way except for a few exceptional but great days every year, x local

Very hard beach to get to , killadoon beach does it actually exsist
