Domburg is famous because of its wooden poles that stand right in the sea. The use of the breakers is too slow down the current and stop sand from washing away. The poles create a good surf because they break the waves at fixed spots. They create an extremely hollow right and a long left. All the beaches in Domburg can be surfed.
Domburg can be surfed as a beginner, but make shure to check te way of the current and the wind first. As a beginner its wise too stay away from the wooden poles since these will cut you open with ease.
At the surfspot there is also a surfschool located. The surfschool has certified teachers and surflessons will be given during the whole summer season.
There are a few contests held in Domburg the "Domburg Classic" is held for the 16th time this year. Also Domburg is one of the contest spots for the Dutch National Championships.
Since surfing is rising in popularity the size crowds also grows. The best spot is reserved for the locals. The locals become a bit grumpy sometimes because there forms a crowd at the best spot. The best thing to do is show them respect and just surf another beach, since all the beaches break. Please visit www.Surfreport.nl this is a website runned by a local photagrapher and contains alot of pictures and information.
The atmosphere at the surfspot is great. At the surfschool there's a chill vibe with chairs and music. Next to the surfschool there is a touristshop and a restaurant where you can grab a snack after a fun surf. When you pass the surfschool you will usually see the locals/teachers hanging around. The founder of Sportshop Domburg, Jan Santstra, manages the surfschool.
Sportshop Domburg started in 1994 and always promoted surfing in Holland and is located in the middel of Domburg close to the church. Sportshop Domburg has a huge stock of surfboards and has alot of wetsuits. Also in the shop there are always some locals and the vibe is relaxed.
Feel free to browse their site www.sportshopdomburg.nl !!
In general this is a good spot. With a great surf community. The locals will show respect if you show them respect.

Ouddorp - yes you mean Ouddorp or something like this,it's near the Brouwersdam.it's better for windsurfing because there is a really strong rip 2 hours after high tide. low tide doesn't work.so you hae not a lot of time if you don't want to paddle against the rip.but i have been there this weekend and there were some surfer with longboards. they caught some good waves.so if you like to paddle you can try the spot

respect at first hand - respect the locals. DB is gettin' crowded. respect those who surf their hometurf. Dont interfere with local contests which are only held 3 times a year.take the beach up front or left of the restaurant. Most locals surf 2,3,4 beaches to the right of the restaurant. respect them or get snaked and dropped in.
