Better to the north... - The waves in the south of Oman are hopelessly inconsistent, and there are too many people surfing them already. It is better to the north, south of Ras Al Had, go there. It is closer to where you all come from anyway. And, it is nearer to Starbucks and all the other stuff you all like too.

Closest from surf spot from Dubai?? - Just got to Dubai. My 7'4 on its way from South Africa in the next month.
Whats the closest spot for a wave coming from Dubai by road. Pick up my 4X4 this week.

Muscat surfers shout-out - Salaam alekum.I'm living in Muscat so that I can tap into some of the uncrowded points and reefs (and earn a bit of cash). Any serious surfers in the area who are thinking of a road trip to Sur/Al Ashkarah/Ras Al Hadd/Masirah/Salalah etc and want to share costs/have a laugh/someone to look out for sharks etc and get barreled, please e-mail. I've got a 6'2" fish, 6'2" shortboard and a 6'8" for the bigger stuff. Have you got a 4WD? I'm a trained lifeguard and learning Arabic.
