Just park in the parking lot and if your there for the summer it might make sense to get a parking sticker. Most people go to the right of the lifegaurds b/c they go crazy with the whistles if your near the swimmers plus it usually breaks better there anyway.
Atmosphere
this place is packed with tourists during the summer, so usually it is better to come more towards the evening. people are nice,even the locals
General
this spot can be good and bad depending on what time of year it is and if there are any storms out there. One day it might be big and the next fairly small. generally not to good over the summer unless there is a hurricane.

jaspers - jaspers is a great place. i love it! i went there to rent a board a couple times in the summer visiting, it was awesome!! In Wisconsin, there isn't much surf on lake michigan 'cept in Sheboygan good ol' great lake surfin'..you should try it some time!!

its call Jaspers Surf Shop - The name of the surf shop you are speaking of is Jaspers off Route 6 in Eastham right by Ben and Jerry's. The guy's name is Mike and you are correct, he is a pleasure to be around. You might try calling the Pump House for a surf report at 508-240-2229, that guy's name is Matt, and he is extremely helpful as well. Enjoy your time in Eastham my friend.
