This a very fast wave. A Classic and you have to be fast and in good shape otherwaise get the hell out of the water and watch!.
  Overview
Atmosphere It may be quite crowded on high season Dec-to March. But if you surf well and fast you will be outrunning a lot of wannabes and just get your own.
Anyway, keep it cool and nobody will bother.
Respect to be respected.

its confirmed, shark attaccks happen in galapagos they just had it quiet. check galapagos shark attack on youtube, and the guy is lucky, this is the third attack in less than two years, thats what happen when places get crowded. and let me tell you, if you know the hospital there, you dont want that to happen

Crowded
Recently got back from 3 weeks in the Galapagos and scored the best swell they'd had all year according to locals. The waves were all time, but if you are in San Cristobal or Santa Cruz in Feb. you may be surprised to find the lineups crowded with 15-20 heads at virtually every spot not accesible by boat (and most of the boat access spots are crowded too). Apparently, the Galapagos have blown up over the last few years and are packed with surfers from Dec.- March. We opted not to go with Canoa and the tour and we were glad. Canoa is 3times more expensive than the other places to stay, and they load up the boats with like 8-15 people so you never really score empty waves. I went on a showstring with one other friend and scored perfect emtpy points by thinking outside the box and heading far away from the crowds. Huge potential if you have a keen sense of adventure; and if you know someone with a boat (just ask one of the fisherman--they will take you all day for about 50-75 bucks total). Most incredible wildlife I have ever seen. Lots of sharks too!

Canoa Surf Resort ( and Eddie)
I just retured from a week at Canoa Surf Resort. Before my trip I saw some negative stuff posted here about Eddie and I can now say with full conviction that all that stuff is just plain bogus. I can only describe Eddie as the consumate host. He and the rest of his staff will do anything to make your stay fun and it goes way beyond surfing. The other surf guides Oswaldo and Wilson did a great job as well. Pepe the cook will just blow you away with three gourmet meals a day. MacGyver keeps everything repaired. Anyone wants more details just email me.Perhaps the negative posts are from locals that resent outside surfers coming in but there is certainly nothing bad that can be said about Eddie (ok, he does smoke a few cigarettes) or his resort. There may be less expensive ways to surf San Cristobal breaks but in this case you get what you pay for.
