- it's called Shark Harbor because of the two rocks that look line the dorsal and tail fin of a shark.

Shark Harbor - I surfed this spot the other day. Great wedges. I flew a bunch of buddies out there in my airplane. Can't wait to bring some more bros. Awesome locals. Just show some respect.

sharks - I dont know why anyone surfs at Catalina- there is a reason its called SHARK harbor. The backside of Catalina is swarming with sharks and the locals make it an unpleasant trip. let them have it

By CAT local , 13-10-2004

lol - its probibly never good cause you surf it in the inside cove

not very good - Ive surfed this spot plenty of times and ive never seen it bigger than 3 foot sometimes a short ride will come through but dont count on it. Its usually ankle slappers that just close out every time. Lots of rays, so watch your feet if you must waste your time surfing here. Its one of the few spots the locals have so lets let them have it.

pastor - On big days, it can be a blast. Used to live on the island, so this was about all we had. Ben Weston (south of SH) can also work after a big storm. At Shark, say hi to Pastor. He'll be the shirtless guy waving at you from the 10 footer.....
