silver sands - stayed at silver sands last week, surfed every day. fun but very inconsistent. its like a french shore break - steep drop, tight bottom turn then not much time to do anything else before you're on the beach! good boogie boarding wave. better to walk the 20 mins to south point. watch the rocks on the bottom at silver sands, they're sharp if you jump off your board at low tide.

south pt/silver sands - stayed in south point during june 04. surfed silver sands mostly, easy paddle out but surf was inconsistent- shin to chest all depended on tide. windy most of the two weeks i was there. nightlife is there, try st. lawrence gap. rented a house, nice and cheap right on the water. "regular" groceries are expensive b/c imports. went twice to bathsheba aka soup bowl and it was crappy and not up either times. u have to get lucky to score good waves there i was told it was rare compared to what we here about the awesome swells. but i had fun at silver sands, no crowd the whole time i was there. i recommend a trip to barbados with friends, what a great experience. for serious waves though try elsewhere.

Go to the East - Silver sands is for windsurfers/kitesurfers. If in your Barbados only go here if east side is blown out. Not anything special.

Pretty fun! - Hey this is a pretty fun place, I recommend staying at the Inchcape Seaside Villas and Apts, it seemed to be a much better deal than the sivelr sands resort right next door.

Anyhow its a short little right over a rock reef that dumps in sand at the end adn it's pretty mellow, unless there's a big W or S swell which is pretty rare. Beginner stuff.

Barbados is one of favorite places in the world and I love going there on vacation with my girlfriend. The south & west side of the island ususally offer really mellow surf, longboarding surf really, and then you can cruise over to th east side & hit soupbowls and etc. for a gnarlier wave.

Beautiful place.
