English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): From Meribula, follow the road down to Pambula (5 mins), then once you head into Pamubla follow the signs to Pambula beach from there you can walk around the rocks to the river mouth, but it is better to drive there which is a road coming off the Pambula beach carpark. Easy to find and there is a little quiet beach on the river popular with familys. English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): This is a classic wave. It is a absolute beats of a hallow wave. It has been known to hold tubes for 10 seconds which are nearly impossible to make.
It is a extramly fickle place, only working on the biggest of swells, but the stanked sand at the rivermouth makes sure that when the swell hits, the waves are perfect.
this place is always worth a check in the right swell. When just up the road at Meribula Bar is overcrowded, just head down here, where there are not so many weekend surfers, just a bunch of friendly locals.
Atmosphère
English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): This place works best through australias winter months, asthat is when the biggest swells come in.
This place, when good, just has to be seen, as it is hard to decribe.
Général
English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): this place is rumoured to be in the top 50 waves in the world. It just isn't well known becuase it is so fickle.
It was voted as number 43 in an australian sufer mag survey of the top 100 waves in the world.

- Have been down here on atleast 10 occasions on big swells and have yet to see it do anything rideable, local guys tell me it's nothing like the 70's and 80's anymore unless a 1 in a 200 year flood flushes the sand at the mouth, sadly it's now a myth of a wave, but just imagine for a moment that one of the world's best waves turns on for a day or two just for the locals who have waited years, seriously the stuff of dreams......

still waiting !! - moved to pam in 2004, ready to live my life down the road from one of the best waves in the world, well its now 2010 and still waiting to get it on like the old days, ive resided to the fact it aint ever gonna happen like it did back then (70's and 80's) id love to know peoples theories on it. if theres any chance i recon it would take a flood of biblical preportions to kick that bank in the arse.

arsed it in the 80s - twas my first trip to the south coast and we stayed at adolfs van park at pam, beach. had the rivermouth for maybe 3 days at between 3 and 5ft. after 27yrs of surfing, i can still say i had the best waves of my life! so far!
