Atmosphere
In difference to the West Beach you have no ugly buildings, but pure nature: a huge sand bank, long beaches and a beautiful dune landscape. The waves at the north shore are twice strong than at the West Beach. With offshore winds, tube sections are possible. Sometimes a seal looks around, three metres next to you.

General
Best spot of the island. Although it´s a pretty far walk, it´s worth to go.

surfing a 44ft yacht here! - Even before starting to surf we were coming here on a sailing yacht. It was a good 8Bft so we were heading for the closest harbour which was Borkum. The waves breaking in front of the island where so big and massive that our 44ft yacht was beginning to surf! Imagine that: No sails, just engine at 5-6 knots and then you this massive wave hits you - speeding up your boat to 20knots! I thought that either we're all gonna die or this surfing is the only thing way cooler than flying. There I am surfing Southern California now.
