water temp? - what's the average water temp? I'm used to 50 degree WA State water How low does it go in Iceland?

- That's diehard surfing. No crowds, clean waves, and from the looks of it--lots of volcanic black sand beaches. Looks blacker than Kalapana.

photo 1 - The first photo is Sandvík not Vík. Vík is a classic beachbreak and it works almost all of the time, on a small day there are usually a few good sets breaking behind the gas station. On a big S or SW swell there is potential for some world class pointbreak on the west end of the beach. Oh and do check out the cafe/pub.
