Additional Information
You can drive your car to the beach (4x4) but be careful not to leave anything lying around. Park the car far from the beach sometimes the tide rises a lot. ONLY surf this spot when high tide, you get big waves but because most of the times the wave is slow you have to paddle very hard, but it is rewarding. Sometimes the big waves are a bit far, so one must also paddle like for 15 minutes because the waves pull you a bit.

Atmosphere
Many of the natives around the place surf, there is no localisim and they are glad to have new people around. Be sure to know a bit of spanish or to have a friend that does . The water is warm from January to April and you get good waves every second-third day. From May to December the water is cold and the waves are strong, sometimes they even form into tubes. There isn't much crowd except for a bunch of kids from the city that are there every week. The spot has lot of nature, so you can see manta rays and if you are lucky sharks (2m long harmless animals) and sea turtles. If you really want good waves, you can walk for 15 minutes to La Rinconada, another surf spot.

Good Stuff! - We went there last Feb and caught it good a couple days. It needs a lower tide and a good size swell, but its worth it for sure. Watch out for the rocks in the water on the way out. Good spot if Montinita is too crowded. Have fun!
