English (Traduzir este texto em Português): better to go deep n take off on the smaller ones(wall up longer)Line up with a trench(crack on the bottom of the reef)Set's break wider so always keep an eye on them....
+
Awesome wave as is the Nagigia Resort. Anyone going to Fiji should not overlook it!! It's remote and easily comparable to any other resort in Fiji. Although only the adventures should go. A lot of boating and scary 4 seater planes.
+
Ideal break for anyone looking to try their hand at a reef wave. MUCH safer than Tavarua etc. Normally surfed on a mid tide plus, so there´s more water under your feet. Gets very hairy when the swell picks up and the tide drops. Offshore in the trade winds. Bring your reef boats. Surf guide on hand at all times. Friendly people on Nagigia island. Not cheap, but worth every penny.
Ambiente
English (Traduzir este texto em Português): Very beautiful(classic) break in front of mountain's n water is crystal clear n warm(like a bath)Surf as long as u want....
+
Only the resort Guests have acces to it!! Only 5-7 bures. Good for couples. That means no more than 6-8 guys on it at a time. EPIC.
+
Had the best waves of my life, and the best holiday of my life at Nagigia. Uncrowded - the only surfers out will be island guests. All the fun of reef surfing with none of the hassles. Access available - weather and swell direction permitting - to a cracking right hander, Uokatokou. Beginner reform break near the island too for the missus.
Geral
English (Traduzir este texto em Português): Beautiful scenery...
+
Unreal, and the tuna fishing is insane.
+
Well worth the trip. Highly recommended to surfers of all ages and abilities. Something for everyone, including me, a fat mini-malibuer.

It's an Adventure, Not World Class Surfing - I spent 7 days at Nagigia in August 2007 when Jason was running things. Food, hospitality, amenities were great. The ride isn't really very long, about 50 yds. at the most and you need to kick-out or you'll wreck into this nasty, coral encrusted, cavey-looking rock. The wind was mostly side-shore to off-shore which was the story from most of the surfers. Early and evening sessions had the best conditions. At 3-5 foot faces, its a really easy wave, most intermediates could have a lot of fun. Above that, the rides are fast, intense and exciting, but you will get some very good beatings. The crack in the reef is a good lineup, and it's not hard to find, but when there's more swell, it sucks-up and throws pretty damn hard. There used to be a whole bunch of broken boards all hung up in the restaurant bungalow, but the new owners took them down. Okay, here is something to keep in mind about going here (like all surf destinations/camps): If you happen to be there when there aren't many surfers visiting, you can have plenty of waves (duh). However, at ONLY 4-5 surfers and up at the same time, it's now crowded given the small, optimal take-off zone. For a few days, it felt like a contest, jockeying for position, and some people don't share. Then they're all pissed when you return the favor. Whatever. When it's too windy, go freediving and it's amazing. Whitetips, octopus, barracuda, amazing reef and no Tigers (thank God!) It's a great honeymoon/getaway surf vacation place, not like some of the other world-class waves in Fiji. Oh, yeah, DON'T FORGET YOUR BOOTIES!

Surfed everyday! - My wife and I just returned from Nagigia Island, and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From arrival to departure, I surfed everyday ranging from 2-3 foot perfect glass to 6-8 foot charge. Surfed mostly King Kong Left, but got to surf the not so frequent King Kong Right as well. Not being used to reef breaks, the extreme knowledge of the surf guides helped me feel confident in this gem of a spot. A very tide influenced break, but plenty to do while waiting for the right tide. Definitely recommend Nagigia Island Resort and King Kong Left & Right to anyone in need of a surf influenced relaxing get away. To add, the staff, food, and sights are top-rate.
