FIJI is the most beautiful place in the world, drink some Kava.
Atmosphere
Swimming pools is named after the water color and clarity at the break. It's like surfing in an aquarium. A fun spot until it gets head high and over, then it gets fast, and get ready to race! when sizeable, it's one of the thicker waves around. A wide breaking set can break your board, give you a time out..or both.
General
One of the most rippable waves aroud..get ready to feel like a pro. Just because you pay for Namotu doesn't mean Swimming Pools will break.
+
It's an easy break, and definately isn't as world class as Cloudbreak or Wilkes, but it's still a fun wave, and it breaks perfectly most of the time.

Awesome - Surfed Swimming pools last month late afternoon on a windless day. Was about 1-2 foot overhead and perfect. A little crowded given relaxation of exclusivity to Fiji's breaks now, but a pretty good vibe in the water and there were plenty of waves to go around. Less intimidating than Restaurants and fun.

great spot - Surfed it head high with about 20 other guys in the water but it was easy to get waves. This place reminded me of a warm water rincon - the inside is so perfect on this wave, you can take off super late and still make the drop because the wave is so clean. Definatly a super fun rippable wave. Could only imagine what it must be like when its actually on.

Namotu - You can occasionally get access to the breaks around Namotu Island if you are staying at a couple of the surf camps on Viti Levu. RENDEVOUS and SEA SHELL. I've surfed both Lefts and Swimming Pools while staying at RENDEVOUS, a great place by the way.
