Aotearoa Attitude - Man...I'm a kiwi surfer who's been living (& surfing) in Hawaii for a year now, and after checking NZ spots on this website, I'm reminded how uptight it is down there. In Hawaii 95% of the time, the line-up is a fun, friendly place with a mixture of young & old, guys & girls, surfing their guts out with a smile on their faces. Guys like Mangawhai Hardcore wouldn't last 5 minutes up here with that attitude.... and by the way, there's folks up here surfing 15 ft pipeline on their "gay" longboards, "spongers" taking on Peahi (Jaws) on bodyboards.... You should come up here Mangawhai Hardcore, we'll all laugh as some 60 year old guy on a longboard surfs circles around you.
