Atmosphere
Hard to get to. The walk in is about 2- 3 hours. Fresh water lake at top of cliffs. The wave is generally kind of fat , but very carvable and fun. Beautiful spot with plenty wildlife. Plenty shark food in the shape of seals. A real adventure. Take food you can boil the lake water for drinking.
General
Great fun wave if you do your homework.

No extrta Ketchup w/my order please! - Never add any red suace@Double pt's Great White Castle, coz it only attracts more hungry jaws to an otherwise quiet lineup/buffet, all the tourist sharks start thinking there's tasty surfer-burger bloodmeats on the menu!

Actual Directions/Guide to Surfing Double Point - Drive to the end of Mesa Road in Bolinas, to the Palomarin lot/Alamere falls trailhead. This will be a long hike in. Continue on coast trail and pass Bass Lake (the first actual lake you will see). After bass lake, maybe 3/4 miles, is pelican lake. Access to double point is on the south side of Pelican Lake. It's best to make a weekend out of it if you are surfing double point bc of the long hike there and back. Double point area is very secluded and rangers won't find your camp as long as you are off main trails. Don't get bit!
