Del Mar is typically bad, but it has it's days especially at pickleweed point. If you get the right swell and tide it's a sick wave.

That Photo - BTW that photo is from Surfing Magazine from like 2005 or 2006, can't really remember. You should give credit to surfing magazine bro. Thx for posting it though cuz thats an absolutely beautiful photo. I think it was on the front cover if I remember correctly, maybe not.

Move on - The firestorms had A-Frames from IB to Oceanside and the river mouth was nothing special compared to everywhere else. 18th through 29th had as many good waves up and down the beach that entire swell.
The restoration project is just hype and you already building the hype is weak. Let people figure it out for themselves.

Pickleweed Point (rivermouth) - it's not much of a Rivermouth, more like a dissapointing stream from the wetlands just south and east of the race track. Soo enough though, we shall see some flow I do believe. A project to restore the natural tidal flow from the ocean into these wetlands is underway and I feel that we may see some rivermouth like qualities at this break. As I await the day there are occasions still yet when the mouth flows sediment gets displaced and rights form. The left (pickleweed) I guess some people are calling it now- has some time to form. durring the fires this year ('07) we got a glimpse of what may be to come. The wave is fast and nicely shaped, easy to generate speed and pull into tight little tubes. These days you will still be waiting for the right corner to come in, bigger sets closing out with ease. Maybe soon we"ll see the "point" like, rivermouth qualities this
