Laid back with clean water and tourists to impress ! Collection of skimmers on shore and nasty fishermen on the Pier.

Fall and Winter should be fun. TS Grace in 2003 gave it some boost.

- The surf here is usually flat, except when it's not. Average surf is mushy. Look for surf during a tropical event or winter low pressure system in the Gulf.

pier power - I have surfed the pier for about 15 years and when this place is on it is like no other. It has plenty of power, it is a mid-break that will hold solid 3 feet over head but be prepared to race this wave and get pounded. It is best on mid to high tide on a south to east/south swell. crowds in the summer thin during the winter, it compares to vilano or wabasso even on a good day.
