Paddle out in the vicious rip that runs along the jetty (stay on your board). It will let you out in the perfect spot. If the waves are dumpin' the current will surely be tuggin' on you pretty hard.drop in on one next to the jetty, take it into the beach (pump your way through the shorbreak to the beach) and catch the rip back out if you please. Its easier than paddling through the soupy inside section.
Atmosphere
this is a spot that very few people know about. Most gulf-coasters will flock to the flagship and leave this brown gem alone (which is fine with me). When a hurricane is churnin' up the gulf the coast will look like the inside of a washing machine during a spin cycle. If your lucky enough to have a nice 4 knot wind blowin' into the face of that chop, 31 dump street will earn its name and your respect.
General
its f___ing dumparific.

- have seen it pretty clean on two days of the year april 22 and oct 16..and on pre hurricane..make that 4 or 5 days and i have traveled the world..funny thing is ..it is uncrowded and going out you actually find the waves are better than they look from shore...so it is an inside secret to the townies

World class my +++ - that is a joke "world class" There are no world class waves in the gulf of mexico. Even at the very best it can get (once a year on average) it still does not compare to a good day on the pacific coast at any beachbreak.
