If you're looking for Meacoms Pieir .... - ..... DONT!
Look to "The Texas General Land office" to build a new pier in the Boliver area as of the date on this post.
They and F.E.M.A. decided to rip the only surf spot along the north coast of Texas from its roots because of, what they say, is a "Hazard to the public". Hurricane Ike damaged it from being used to fish on but it was still creating great waves for the local surfers.
We shall see just what the GLO's word is worth.

Bolivar true story - Was fishing for shark in 06 using big penn reels and a kayak. Sent my 2 pieces of sting ray out about 300 yards. Buddy baited up and headed further out..about the time he passed my bait my reel started smoking out line. Rared back to pick up a good hook set when a 7 ft black tip ripped out of the water clipping my buddy out the yak with the fishing line. The best part was when he landed on another black tip and let out the loudest "oh sh*t" scream I have ever heard from a grown man. Needless to say he found his way back very quickly. Point to the story?? Don't surf next to long fishing lines..good bloody baits chum the water and sharks like these up consistently here.
