You need a boat to get to Redfish Island which is located in the Houston Ship Channel. The key to this fun spot is to watch the shipping schedules. When a large ship comes in, paddle out and get a nice 6 footer. Doesn't matter which side of the island you're on, as long as the ship passes nearby. Fun for those flat Texas summers!

Redfish Island was recently restored and is back in business!

Didn't blow it - How could it be a secret if it was talked about in Surfer magazine way back in the early 90's? Besides, most folks can't find it so don't worry. It'll never get crowded.
