- Localism
Can't park there. Don't leave your car there locals are quick to either ruin it or call a towing company.
Atmosphere
General
Rarely breaks...Not worth it. Localism is too high. I'd rather surf 67th.

Ashamed - Have you guys lost all dignity toward respecting any of the not so known breaks on Western Long Island? This spot should not be up on this board! Im not even a local and I'm saying this.

about access - there is basically no parking on the neighborhood streets around this spot, so its best to go with a friend, drop your stuff off at the spot (end of 149th street) and then go park at jacob riis lot ($6 during summer 9-6). 1/2 mile walk from parking lot back to spot.

Localism? what a joke... and Im a local. - Ok, I've been surfing uptown rockaway for over 30years. Bay1, for the last 3 or 4 years has totally been out of commission. BUT... the last rounds of hurricanes have rearranged the sandbar and now it works ok again. As far as LOCALISM... like I said Im from here and have surfed bay1 for over 30years. The only fools trying to pull localism are these dumb assed ftw followers. half are not from rockaway but small italians kids from brooklyn who barely can surf. I've seen them try and pull the localism stuff with Locals and they get blasted. You want to surf here? its not really worth the effort but dont localism get in the way.
